Crude oil production

Direct, foreign investments have greatly boosted the country's oil production, which more than tripled between 2004 and 2010, reaching 51 Mt, partly with the start of production from the Shah-Deniz field in 2006. Production has been decreasing ever since, dropping to 42 Mt in 2014. It remained roughly stable in 2015 and decreased slightly in 2016 to 41 Mt.
