    At year-end 2014 average prices for fuel were much lower than in December 2013, due to the fall in global crude oil prices. Gasoline stood at Lek 178/l (€1.25/l) in 2014 (Lek 199/l, i.e. €1.42/l in 2013), while diesel dropped from Lek 189/l (€1.35/l) in 2013 to Lek 172/l (€1.21/l) in 2014.

  • Energy Consumption

    Consumption per capita is approximately 0.75 toe (76% below the EU average), including 2 400 kWh of electricity (57% below the EU average) (2013).

    Final energy consumption has been stable since 2010 at around 1.9 Mtoe. It increased very rapidly (+6.5%/year) between 1997 and 2010.
