    Panama has no fossil fuel reserves. It does, however, have significant hydroelectric potential (6 700 MW) that is partly exploited.

    In 2016, the price of diesel was about US$0.61/l and that of unleaded gasoline US$0.74/l. This came after a steep drop in prices of about 36% since 2013 for both fuels, mainly triggered by the decline in international oil prices.
