Total energy consumption stands at 0.87 toe/capita and 1 640 kWh/capita for electricity (2016).

In spite of its hydroelectric wealth, total energy consumption is still dominated by biomass (40%), followed by oil (37%) and hydroelectricity (23%) (2016).
