Total Energy consumption

Total energy consumption stands at 1.1 toe/capita and 1 800 kWh/capita for electricity (2018). Total and final energy consumption increased at the rapid pace of 4.5%/year since 2005, and even 10%/year since 2015, reaching 7.3 Mtoe and 6.6 Mtoe, respectively, in 2018.

Crude oil production

The country's only refinery ceased operating in 2005. Since then, oil products consumption is entirely based on imports. In 2017, oil product imports rose to 2.7 Mt, almost three times the 2000 volume.
